To "Mama"
If I could wish upon a star . .
And make that wish come true . .
I would wish for one more day . .
To spend my life with you . .
I'd hold you safely in my arms . .
And pray we'd never part . .
Swap stories we never shared . .
Then just talk heart to heart . .
I'd make you laugh, tickle your sides . .
Drown in your smiling face . .
Snuggle up, so very close . .
To feel your warm embrace . .
If only stars somehow could feel . .
And wishes could come true . .
Love would be kind and grant to me. .
To have that day with you . .

Gazing at the dark night sky
Stars stood still in their universe
Thoughts of you, of our last days
Tears fell, melted crystal's of pain
Why God? When life is can be fine
She left me alone, too soon to die?
Shooting across the Heaven bright
One large star, looked down on me
I felt so small, a speck of sand
Who was I, to question His plan
He loved her more, even than I
Mercy came to her through Him
Peace replaced an empty hole
Burning deep inside my heart
God sent that star, bright, swift
Peace came to my broken self
I shall always remember in my heart
The night of the star, that God sent
To show nothing is without reason
My time comes, both shall greet me
Easy for God to cause stars to fly
To give life, so all would love Him
In my pain I forgot my purpose
I, again, live in peace, for Him

"If You Could Hear"
As I kneel down to pray
If you heard the things I say
You would hear my humble pleas
As I bend down to my knees
"God watch over all I love
Around, below, and from above
Mend their hearts and ease their pain
Bring forth peace for them to gain
Fill their hearts up with your joy
Turn their mountains into toys
No matter what comes their way
They're renewed to face the day
Give to them prosperity
Compassion, love, sympathy
Faith, hope, and charity
Inner strength abundantly
So that they may take a stand
To walk with you, hand in hand"
Sending back an "I love you"
We thank you Lord for all you do
Asking, "Father," when we pray,
"What can we do for you today?"

Mother's are much like Angels
With loving wings around you
They lead, guide, encompass
Your path in life, shepherd through
They never will depart you
Their loving heart is in yours
To calm the shifty waters
Escort to peaceful shores
As you lay deep in slumber
She still is at your bedside
Watching over you at night
Looking at you with great pride
Now and then she'll let you know
Feel the breeze touch your face
Do not doubt, for it is she
Yes, that is her warm embrace
God allowed her through His Love
To let you know she is near
Mother's are much like Angels
Only they are much more dear.

To Harold Carlton
Daddy
"I could not"
I went to paint a picture, the canvas white and blank
Reflecting like a mirror the emptiness inside my heart
Once talented a person, breaking apart, I could not paint.
I went to write a poem for you, I could not find a word
The paper remained white and shallow, pen in hand
No words to describe my losing you, I could not write.
I went to compose a song to sing of my missing you
No lyrics came to mind, only words from a saddened heart
My throat grew tight, I felt the tears, I, did not compose.
I went to say a prayer to God. I know right where you are
Knowing you are very close, yet so distant
He knew I wanted one last touch from you, I could not feel.

Life has just begun
I have faith in where you are
By the twinkle of every star
I know you now see the Son
I know your life has just begun
You are running across the sky
Laughing loudly as I still cry
For such freedom I’ve yet to know
I will get there by what I sow
I pray when that time is near
Your tender voice, I will softly hear
You will greet me in the Light
Be it day or be it night
We shall run across the sky
Dance on clouds, just you and I
See all mountains in a single glance
Over Oceans we shall prance
I have faith in where you are
By the twinkle of every star
I know you now see the Son
I know your life has just begun.

Everything is you
You're in the Sun
that kiss my eyes
From the early
morning sky
In the dew
covered ground
quenching my heart
you're all around
The blue bird
who softly sang
the Church bell
as it rang
Sky covered rainbow
multiple hue
you're in everything
everything is you

Desperate love
Who said you could leave first?
Who said you could go away?
If you had asked me
I would have told you
"You cannot go, you must stay!"
Such foolish words my love
Can you hear them?
Are you reading this
from above, from the heavens?
It's so hard my love
To let go, you know
Such a desperate kind of love!
I guess, I wish, I could turn the clock back
Take away all the pain
So you would not have had to suffer
Just old age taking you silently away
It would still hurt but not this way.
